The World Series was quick. Yankees won four straight games but is most remembered by a dramatic play at home plate. At the top of 10th, game four with Crosetti on third and Keller on first, DiMaggio singled scoring Crosetti. But, the ball was bobbled in right. Keller rushed for home, collided with Lombardi who was dazed by the impact. The big man was slow to recover and DiMaggio rushed home. The play, now known as the Lombardi Snooze, haunted the 1938 MVP as the highlight of the 1939 World Series. Here is a ticket for game four autographed by Hall of Famer Ernie Lombardi.
